The metal prints are orderable in a variety of sizes and never have to match a standard frame size. Useful for displaying an image cropped at a size that is difficult to find a frame for.Great for pictures you want to display prominently but without the distraction of a frame or mat (or maybe the wall it's hanging on is already a fitting frame - such as exposed brick/rock where a wooden or painted frame would seem odd).why? Well, I don't use this for every image, but here are some reasons to consider this option: It has slightly rounded corners for safety and aesthetics, and you can order it with a metal or foam block on the back that makes the image "pop out" or stand out from the wall about 3/4". The sheet of metal is quite thin but holds its flatness and rigidity. I use for this sometimes but I know it's offered elsewhere. Many commercial print labs offer printing directly on sheets of aluminum. This isn't Sony specific, but due to some questions in another thread ( ) I thought I'd share my thoughts on metal and metallic prints for those who haven't tried this.
